This is no longer true. You can get over 108TB on a single volume, but you will need to upgrade the memory of the machine to 32 GB or ram, after which the restriction will be lifted. Ds 1821+ supports up to 32GB so it is just a issue of getting 2x 16gb sticks of SODIMM ddr4 ecc ram

this is why our NAS are improperly hardened. Thinking the NAS that has a public facing IP is being seen because the manufacturer is vulnerable. Don't mention anything about the biggest thing plaguing every public facing IP, bots. Another is the backdoors purposely designed from these manufacturers. Next, not using VPNs. Think the last is the non techie people buying these that don't have the science background for technology. They could just take your minuscule amount of advice you stated but if your videos aren't being updated regularly or even the topic readdressed the extreme advancement these adversaries have access to makes it almost impossible to mitigate, if at all. I recommend following the National Standards outlined from NIST or best practices in ISO, or ISACA.

Just hooked mine up today at our cabin. I was able to use Site Magic to connect to our main house UDM in less than 3 minutes. I fought trying to get the UDM and USG to play nice for a long time. Well worth the upgrade, especially since the controller is now hosted on the gateway.

Would it make sense to replace the coolant in the "last line" with something else than water, so you don't have catastrophic failure, as soon as one of those lines fails? Like say using isopropyl alcohol for the last line and having a sort of heat transfer to the water line only at one point in the bottom of the rack.
